Just enough so the phone has a network.
Install on iPhone
- Connect to Wi‑Fi.
- Settings → Mobile Data → Add eSIM → Use QR code.
- Scan the QR or enter the activation code.
- Label it “Marea”. Leave it off until you arrive.
- On landing: turn Marea on and switch off roaming on the physical SIM.
Install on Android
- Connect to Wi‑Fi.
- Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add eSIM.
- Scan the QR or enter SM-DP+ and the code.
- Label it “Marea”. Leave it off until you arrive.
- On landing: turn Marea on and switch off roaming on the physical SIM.
What is an eSIM?
A digital SIM. You install it with a QR. There is no card to pick up.
Will my phone work?
Most iPhones from the XS on, and many recent Androids. In settings, look for “Add eSIM”. If it is missing, do not buy.
Can I hotspot?
Yes, on plans that say so. The phone becomes a router.
When does it start?
The first time it connects to a network in the destination, not when you install.
WhatsApp, maps, Uber?
Yes. It is data. What you already use on Wi‑Fi, you use with Marea.
And calls?
The eSIM is data. Call on WhatsApp, FaceTime or whatever you use. Your home number stays on the physical SIM.
Several countries?
A national plan covers that country. The Europe plan covers the region on the page.
If it does not work?
Write to [email protected]. If there is no network inside coverage, we look at it. Do not leave home roaming on: that bill is not ours.
PDF invoice?
After payment we send the receipt to your email. If you need an invoice with a tax id, reply to us.
Are you a carrier?
No. Marea sells travel eSIMs. We resell data. We are not a traditional mobile operator.
